In May 2001, the 533 Squadron was awarded the
“Youth Leaders of Tomorrow”
Award.
In June 2006, the 533 Squadron was named the
“Most Proficient Squadron in Alberta”.
533 Sabre Squadron is one of the strongest youth
organizations in St. Albert with more than 100 cadets ranging in age from
12-18
years.
Our primary focus is on
teaching the cadets to be more self confident, to teach and develop
leadership skills, to enhance communication skills, and to promote good citizenship practices.
We encourage each cadet to reach
their own potential through a set
mandatory and optional training programs.
As a member of the community for more than 50 years, the 533 squadron name has long been associated
with hard work and dedication. Our band and cadets perform frequently
in parades as well as at other squadrons’ functions. Our sports and
drill teams continue to bring home top awards yearly. As you
can see, we have lots to offer and be proud of.
Our squadron is staff includes 5 to 8 uniformed officers, 6 to 10 expert
instructors, and many parent volunteers. All cadet activities
are fully supervised.
If you would like to
find out more about how you can become part of such
an exciting team, please refer to the Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQ) section.
