ST. ALBERT (HOST) LIONS CLUB 

The St. Albert (Host) Lions Club has been the official sponsor of the 533 Sabre Squadron for over 55 years. 

The role of the sponsor is to oversee the local operation of the Air Cadet Squadron. This includes the provision of suitable quarters for training, administration, and supply, assisting in the recruiting of suitable staff (both military and civilian), arranging recreational programs, representing the squadron at Air Cadet League functions, providing for the financial needs of the Squadron, and a variety of other items. The sponsor has delegated many of these activities to a Sponsoring Committee.

The Sponsoring Committee is made up of members from both the Lion's Club and the Friends of 533 Squadron Society. This committee works closely with the Squadron Commanding Officer to plan a yearly program and budget as well as provide the allocation of the funding necessary for each year's planned activities.
